About Wood Mounting Wood mounting (also known as plaque mounting) is an easy and appealing alternative to custom framing of your HistoryShots print. Your print is mounted to solid backing board 3/8” thick. Then, a protective laminate is applied to the surface of your print. This layer safeguards your print from dirt, dust, moisture, and harmful UV rays of sunlight. The edges of the mounted piece are shaped with a 45° bevel, finish-sanded and painted black. The back side is routed with a custom keyhole, allowing the finished piece to be hung flush to a wall without wire. About Lamination Another low cost alternative to framing is lamination. We laminate both sides of your HistoryShots print which help protects it from dirt, dust and moisture.
