This graphic is a reproduction of a detail rich chart about phytogeography or the geographic distribution of plants. It contains three different charts and the works of two separate dimensions of botanical geography. The combination of maps, elevations and engravings creates a beautiful whole.

The top section maps the distribution of plants in a vertical direction by showing the elevational profile of five different climate locations including the Andes, Tenerife (the Canary Islands), Himalayas, the Alps & Pyrenees, and Lapland (Finland). Based on the work of the famous German cartography Heinrich Berghaus. The exact title is "Outlines of Botanical Geography The Distribution of Plans in a Perpendicular Direction in the Torrid, the Temperate, & the Frigid Zones; with indications of the mean temperatures of the year and of the coldest and warmest months."

The bottom half maps the geographic distribution of plants by twenty-five regions across the world. The exact title is "The Geographical Distribution of Plants according to Humboldt's Statistics of the Principal Families & Groups; Schouw's Twenty Five Phyto-Geographic Regions, and the distribution of the Family of Palms and the Genera Pinus & Erica."

This graphic is printed on high-quality, fine art, acid-free archival paper.
